Responsible gambling

Gambling is only for people aged 18 and over. It is entertainment, not a way to make money. It can become addictive and can harm you and the people close to you.

Our position

We are a review site. We are not a casino and we do not take bets. We cannot see or control how you play at any casino we write about.

The law on online gambling is different in every country. It may be illegal for you to gamble online where you live. Check your local law before you play. You are responsible for following it.

The risks

  • You can lose more money than you planned. Most players lose over time.
  • Gambling can become an addiction. It can harm your health, work, money and relationships.
  • Bonuses come with wagering rules that can make it hard to withdraw. Read the terms first.
  • No system, tip or strategy can make you win in the long run.

Tips to stay in control, limits and self-exclusion

  • Decide a budget before you play and treat it as money already spent.
  • Set a time limit and take breaks.
  • Never chase losses. Never borrow money to gamble.
  • Do not gamble when you are upset, tired or have been drinking.
  • Use deposit limits, time limits and self-exclusion tools where the casino offers them. Check that a casino offers them before you sign up.
  • Keep gambling away from money for bills, food and rent.
  • Keep your own account. Never let a minor use your account or your devices to gamble.

Warning signs

  • Thinking about gambling most of the day.
  • Needing to bet more to feel the same excitement.
  • Hiding how much you play from family or friends.
  • Feeling anxious or guilty after playing.
  • Trying to win back losses, or playing with money you need for other things.

Where to get help

Talk to someone you trust first. These organisations offer free and confidential support. We are not linked to them and they do not know us.

Some services only help people in one country. Read what each page says about who it is for.
